Ulrich-Walter Gans

Ulrich-Walter Gans (* 1957 ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Ulrich-Walter Gans studied Classical Archeology in Bochum and Munich. He was born in 1989 at the University of Bochum with Hermann Büsing with the work Corinthian Capitals of the Roman Empire. PhD in jewelry capitals in Italy and the northwestern provinces . In 1989/90 he received the Wülfing scholarship . From 1991 to 1998 he was a research assistant at the University of Marburg . In 2000 he completed his habilitation there , and in July 2008 he was appointed adjunct professor. From 2001 to 2009 he was a research assistant for third-party funded projects at the Institute for Archeology at the University of Bochum. He researches ancient Greece and Rome, especially sculpture. Since 2009 he has been the professor for Classical Archeology at the University of Bochum.
