Ulrich Baer (* 1945 in Berlin) is a pedagogue , social pedagogue , game inventor and game pedagogue and director of studies and deputy director of the Remscheid Academy (since September 1, 2016: Academy of Cultural Education of the Federal Government and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia). Lecturer in play education at the Remscheid Academy. Retired since 2010.

He is the founder of a practice-oriented play education and author of several books on play and play education. His game practice from 1995 was fundamental to the development of game education. His game collection "666 Games (Kallmeyer in conjunction with Klett, Friedrich Verlag, Seelze, 25th edition 2013) is considered the basic literature for child and youth work.

Ulrich Baer is the founder (together with Prof. Andreas Knapp) and longstanding editor of the magazine “gruppe & spiel” (Friedrich Verlag, Seelze) and the book series “RAT”.
