Ulrich Engel (lawyer)
Max Bruno Ulrich Engel (born October 23, 1902 in Berlin ; † February 26, 1986 in Bonn ) was a German administrative lawyer and ministerial official.
Career
After the great state examination in law, Engel practiced as a lawyer and until 1945 was a member of the management of the Aryanized Fuld Group in Frankfurt am Main. From 1945 to 1946 he was a member of the planning committee for the establishment of a main office of the German Reichspost in the American zone. After the formation of the state of Greater Hesse, he was appointed officer for the post and telecommunications in the local Ministry of Economics and Transport in 1946. From 1946 to 1947 he was Secretary General of the Board of Directors for Postal and Telecommunications for the American and British Zones, and in 1947 Head of Finance and Economics in the Postal and Telecommunications Headquarters of the United Economic Area . After the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, he was Head of Department IV (Finance and Economic Affairs) in the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications from 1949 to 1967 with the rank of Ministerial Director .
