Ulrich Fiedler

Ulrich Fiedler (born May 9, 1972 in Illertissen ) is a German lawyer and non-party local politician. He has been Lord Mayor of Metzingen since 2009 .

Fiedler grew up in Dietenheim and graduated from high school in Illertissen. He then studied law at the University of Augsburg . After passing the second state examination in law, he joined the Bavarian civil service in 2000, where he was assessor for the administrative district of Swabia , department head at the Kempten road construction office and division manager at the Günzburg district office . From 2005 to 2009, the doctor of law was Chancellor of the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences .

After Dieter Hauswirth had resigned as Lord Mayor of Metzingen, Fiedler ran for the new election due in 2009. In the first ballot, he won 48.4 percent of the votes; In the second ballot, the opposing candidates did not run and he was elected Lord Mayor of the city with 93 percent.
