Ulrich Fitz
Ulrich Fitz (born October 10, 1919 in Lustenau ; † October 26, 2000 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and authorized signatory. From 1954 to 1964 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .
education and profession
Fitz attended the Lustenau elementary school for six years and then switched to the Dornbirn secondary school. He graduated from the Bregenz High School and graduated in 1938 with the Matura. He began studying commercial science in Vienna in 1938 and was called up for service in World War II in August 1940, although he was only able to return from Yugoslav captivity in August 1946 after 26 months. He then continued his studies and obtained his doctorate in 1947 as a Dr., Dipl.-Kfm. Fitz worked from 1946 to 1949 as an employee of the Austria-Switzerland business office and in 1949 became authorized signatory of the Adolf Hämmerle embroidery company. In 1952 he moved to the Dr. G. Eberle to Hard , where he worked as an authorized signatory until his retirement in 1994.
Politics and functions
Fitz was a member of " Young Austria " from 1933 to 1938 and was also active in the interwar period as a member of the Catholic Reich Association, a member of the MKV Kustersberg Bregenz and as a member of the educational community of young Catholic men. From 1950 to 1965 he was a member of the municipal council of Lustenau and chairman of the transport policy committee. He also worked from 1960 to 1965 as vice mayor of the community and from 1970 to 1980 as a substitute member of the community council.
Fitz joined the ÖVP or the ÖAAB on April 1, 1949 and in 1950 became a member of the regional group committee of the ÖAAB Vorarlberg. From 1950 he was also chairman of the private employees section of the ÖAAB Vorarlberg and from 1951 local party chairman of the ÖVP Lustenau. Between 1951 and 1964 he was also active within the party as a member of the state party council of the ÖVP Vorarlberg and was involved from 1954 to 1964 as a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. From October 29, 1954 to October 28, 1964, he was a member of the state parliament and a member of the Economic Committee, a member of the Social Policy Committee and, most recently, a member of the Finance Committee.
Private
Fitz was the son of the embroidery businessman Rudolf Fitz and Josefine Abram (1888–1963), who was born in Sarajevo. He married Marianne Hagen (* 1924) on September 11, 1943 and had a daughter and two sons who were born between 1947 and 1954 .
