Ulrich Frank (basketball player)

Ulrich Frank (* 1963 ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.90 meter tall player was active for Göttingen and Bamberg in the basketball league  . In the top German league he scored a total of 1984 points during his career.

Player career

In 1981 Frank went from the Göttingen youth to the United States for a year and played at a high school there.

In his first year in the Bundesliga , Frank won the German championship in 1982/83 with ASC 1846 Göttingen under coach Terry Schofield and repeated the success in the 1983/84 season.

In 1986, Frank and his teammate, the American Ralph McPherson, moved within the Bundesliga from Göttingen to 1. FC Bamberg . Frank stayed in the Upper Franconian city until 1991 , before he went to BG 74 Göttingen  in the 2nd basketball league  and played there until 1999.

In May 2007 Frank was one of five founding shareholders of starting five GmbH, which managed the game operations of the women's and men's teams of the BG Göttingen in the Bundesliga. He was the sponsor representative of starting five GmbH. In 2012, the company was dissolved after bankruptcy.
