Ulrich Sand (born February 8, 1944 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The future teacher grew up playing football in the youth of VfB Hermsdorf until he was 16 , before joining Wacker 04 Berlin in 1960 . In the last year of the old first-class league era, 1962/63, the 18-year-old striker made 11 appearances (one goal) in the league. In the first two rounds in the then second -rate regional football league Berlin (1963/64, 1964/65), he attracted attention with 27 goals in 46 league games. He was an attacker for the goal closure, who had a hard shot in the left foot available, but which had serious running deficits.

Sand moved in the summer of 1965 - like national player Horst Szymaniak - to Tasmania Berlin, which was accepted into the Bundesliga for sport-political reasons (replacement for Hertha BSC ) . At Tas, Sand was a supplementary player behind other attackers such as Wolfgang Neumann , Wolfgang Rosenfeldt and Wulf-Ingo Usbeck . On September 4, 1965, he made his debut in the away game against Hamburger SV in a 1: 5 defeat in the Bundesliga. The Tas attack occurred with the cast of Wulf-Ingo Usbeck, Klaus Konieczka , Helmut Fiebach , Peter Engler and Sand. He completed nine games. At the end of the season, Sand landed with Tas on the last place in the table and was relegated.

In the following round in the Regionalliga Berlin, 1966/67, he scored six goals in eight games for Neukölln. The attacker, who often struggled with injuries, switched to Reinickendorfer Füchsen in 1967 and only completed ten more regional league games with one goal in two rounds. From 1969 he let his career end with the BSG Berlin teachers.
