Wulf-Ingo Usbeck (born November 4, 1943 ), nicknamed Ringo , is a former German soccer player .

Career

Usbeck made his debut in 1954 in the youth team of Tasmania Berlin under coach Gerhard Graf. In 1961 he was with the juniors, with a 3-2 win against Wacker 04 , the Berlin Cup winner. For a long time he only played in the reserve team. On October 27, 1963 he made his debut in the first team in a 3-0 victory in the away game against BFC Südring . In the 1963/64 season he completed six point games. But he was not used in the games of the promotion round. In the following season he made 19 appearances in which he scored seven goals. For the 1965/66 season he was on the squad of the Bundesliga promoted Tasmania Berlin. Already on August 14, 1965 (1st matchday), in a 2-0 win at home against Karlsruher SC , he scored both goals. With four goals in 28 games, he is the club's most successful Bundesliga goalscorer. In addition, he played on January 22, 1966 in the first main round of the DFB Cup in a 1-1 draw ( after extra time ) in the away game against 1. FC Köln, his first of four games in this competition; the replay won the Cologne 2-0 in Berlin.

After relegation from the Bundesliga - after only one season - Usbeck moved to 1. FC Nürnberg , for whom he only played nine point games in two seasons and one in the national cup competition ( qualification- out on December 25, 1966 with 1: 2 against the Altonaer FC 93 ) denied. For a short time, in the summer of 1967, he was a member of the Grazer AK without having been deployed . From 1973 to 1975 he played for 1. FC Neukölln .

In 1974 he ended his active career. He played from 1975 to 1977 for the senior citizens of Hertha BSC , from 1977 to 1978 for the successor club of Tasmania, SV Tasmania Berlin and from 1978 to 1981 even back in the major league for the Lichterfelder SU . Even after that he continued to play in the senior division.

In total, Usbeck came to 188 regional league games in which he scored 52 goals and to 37 Bundesliga appearances with four goals.

Because of its similarity with the Beatle Ringo Starr , Usbeck was nicknamed Ringo. He was also called the "Mastprinesschen" because he was said to have been very lucky when playing cards.
