Ulrich Strack

Ulrich Strack is a former German basketball player . He was a German national player and two German champions.

career

Strack, characterized by his creative and instinctive style of play, is considered to be one of the greatest talents that MTV 1846 Gießen has  ever produced. At the age of 18 he won the German championship with MTV in 1975, and in 1978 Strack and the Giessen team repeated the triumph. Between the two successes, he put in a stop at Bundesliga competitor TuS Aschaffenburg-Damm, but returned to Giessen in the run-up to the 1977/78 season.

In the further course of his performance basketball career he was drawn to another Bundesliga club: Strack played for DTV Charlottenburg in Berlin , before he switched back to MTV Gießen in 1985.

In the basketball Bundesliga he  scored a total of 2079 points during his career.

National team

In the summer of 1968, Strack took part with the German selection at the European Junior Championships in Vigo , Spain . In seven tournament games he achieved a point average of 4.3. From the summer of 1975 he made international appearances for the senior national team of the FRG and until 1983 had 33 games in the DBB shirt.
