Ulrich von Pottenstein (* approx. 1360; † approx. 1417) was an Austrian clerical prose writer and an important representative of the so-called Vienna School around 1400.

Ulrich von Pottenstein was the pastor of Duchess Beatrix (wife of Albrecht III of Austria ) and court chaplain to Duke Albrecht IV of Austria. From at least 1395 he worked as pastor of Pottenstein in Lower Austria. From 1403 to at least 1410 he was pastor of Mödling , from 1412 to his death pastor and dean of Enns . He wrote the German translation of the 95 so-called Cyrillus fables and a huge catechetical compendium in German.
