Ulrike Mühlschlegel

Ulrike Mühlschlegel (* 1970 in Porto Alegre ) is a German linguist ( Lusitan and Hispanic studies ) and librarian .

academic career

From 1990 she studied Spanish Philology, Portuguese Philology and Political Science at the University of Trier and graduated in 1995 with a Magister. After four years as a research assistant at the Department of Romance Philology at the University of Göttingen in the field of Romance Philology. she was awarded a doctorate in 2000 with her dissertation "Spanish and Portuguese Lexicography in the 17th and 18th Centuries". phil. PhD. From 1999 to 2001 she completed her legal clerkship for the higher service at academic libraries in Berlin and Cologne.

She has been working at the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin since 2001, initially as deputy head of department, and since 2007 as head of the use department in the library of the Ibero-American institute.

Her main research interests are language contact research, the history of lexicography, communication / new media and area linguistics of the Ibero-Romance languages.
