Ulrike Schmauch

Ulrike Schmauch (* 1949 ) is a German social scientist and professor in the “Social Work and Health” department at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences .

Life

From 1969 to 1975 Schmauch studied education (focus: curative education), psychology and sociology at the Universities of Bochum and Frankfurt am Main. In 1984 she received her doctorate from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt / M. with the topic: "Anatomy and Fate - On the Psychoanalysis of Early Gender Socialiastion".

In 1975 and 1976 she worked in the Hermann Luppe day care center in Frankfurt am Main , then until 1980 at the Association for the Educational Promotion of Big City Children eV From 1975 and 1989 she was a lecturer at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt / M. and the universities of applied sciences in Frankfurt (today: Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences) and Darmstadt . From 1984 to 1987 she was a research assistant at the Feminist Interdisciplinary Research Institute in Frankfurt am Main. From 1995 she was a professor at the Frankfurt am Main University of Applied Sciences (department of social work for the field of "Gender Socialization and Social Work") and in 1999 she was appointed to a professorship at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main (field of "social work with a focus on working with socially conspicuous children, Young people and their families ").

Research priorities

Schmauch's research interests include sex education , the body and sexuality in social work, and same-sex lifestyles.
