Keith Tynes (* 1954 in Miami Beach , Florida, USA) is an American Soul - Gospel - Jazz - Pop - and musical - singer , entertainer and composer , who in Berlin lives.

Career

Start of career in the USA

In 1976 he completed his music studies at the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music. During his studies he was already with the "Miami Beach Symphony" and the "Greater Miami Opera Guild" (with engagements in "Macbeth" (2nd tenor), "La Traviata", "La Boheme", "Madame Butterfly", " Tosca ”,“ Porgy and Bess ”and others) engaged as a singer. In 1976 he had his own show in New York with "Hooray USA". From 1977 to 1979 he was also active as a music teacher at the Dade County Public Schools; since then until now he has also given private singing lessons. In 1978 he appeared as an entertainer in the Opryland Nashville, USA, with his own show. In 1979 Keith Tynes moved to New York, where he starred in the musical "A New York Summer" at New York's Radio City Music Hall . He then toured the USA with "I Love New York". In 1980/81 he appeared in a leading role in the musical Show Boat in New York and several US cities.

Performances in the USA and Europe

Keith Tynes had his first engagement in Europe in 1980 at the “Queen Alexandra House” in London. For four years, from 1981 to 1985, he appeared in "The Platters Golden Hits Revue" as the first tenor in numerous major cities in the United States and Europe (The group The Platters was founded in 1953, after some changes in the group, remaining members founded in the following 30 years gradually own groups, one of them were "The Platters Golden Hits Revue").

In 1985 Keith Tynes began his solo career with performances all over Europe and the USA. In the summer of 1987 he appeared in the opening act for Disco Queen Gloria Gaynor in Cyprus. In the same year he made a solo tour of Sweden and Finland as a soul and jazz singer. Between 1989 and 1991 he toured as one of the main characters in the revues "One Night On Broadway!" and "Broadway, Broadway" through Germany and Switzerland.

International career

In 1993 Keith Tynes began his solo career as a gospel singer and produced four of his own CDs. In the following years, his tours took him through Germany, Holland, Austria and Switzerland. In 1995 he sang his soul hits in front of the presidential couple from Singapore. In 1998 he performed in an open air concert with The Weather Girls . In October 1999 Keith Tynes was invited to South Africa for solo concerts (soul, pop, jazz) in Johannesburg and Cape Town, followed by two more concerts there in March 2000.

Keith Tynes - band leader and entertainer

In 2001 he and three men founded the "Keith Tynes Band" - a soul jazz formation that already included 11 musicians and a background choir in 2002. In 2001 he was a guest singer on "Jazz goes Gospel" with Jocelyn B. Smith . This was followed by appearances at the Berlin and Köpenick jazz festivals together with "The Berlin Black Blues Connection & The Three Tenors". In July 2003 he performed at the summer ball of the Hessian state government and in December 2004 at the Christmas gospel and soul concert in the Berlin Cathedral in front of 1,500 guests. In December 2006 he made a guest appearance together with Nina Hagen and Monrose in the benefit concert “Charity 4 Peace”.

Numerous appearances in Germany and worldwide followed: He was a guest star of the dance show "Dirty Dance Nights" in Berlin, on Lake Wörthersee and on Lake Chiemsee (2006); Jury member and guest star of the Miss Germany election in Egypt and star guest at the Berlinale / Teddy Award ceremony with his big band, presenter and singer of the Miss Intercontinental election in the Seychelles as well as presenter and singer in the Misses Germany election in Merseburg (2007 ) as well as moderator and singer for the election of the Top Model of the World, Egypt (2008). He was a star guest at the Hollywood film gala of Star Entertainments, Hamburg, as well as a jury member and singer in the Miss Intercontinental election in Minsk / Belarus (2009). At Stevie Wonder's Berlin concert in July 2010, he sang in the background choir, together with the best singers in Europe. The Keith Tynes Band played in Berlin in 2011 and 2013 in the US embassy and in 2013 as the opening act for Keith Sweat . In 2015 the Keith Tynes Band had several appearances in the Berlin Hotel Estrel .

In April 2007 Keith Tynes recorded the theme song "You'll Never Walk Alone" from the Suzuki Swift commercial , which was released as a single in May 2007.
