Unagi-Pai ( Japanese う な ぎ パ イ , from う な ぎ unagieel ” and English pie , hence also known as Eel Pie or Unagi Pie ) is a sweet Japanese pastry made from puff pastry that has been made and sold in Shizuoka Prefecture since 1961 . It contains eel powder, but has no eel flavor. In 1966, 10 million units were sold. Because of the popular notion that eel increases male libido , Unagi-Pai are also known as "night cookies". They also contain garlicwho is said to have the same thing.
