Unakit
Unakite is a rock made up of the minerals epidote , feldspar and quartz . It is green and pink in color and forms hydrothermally through metasomatosis , that is, through conversion, displacement or exchange of rock components. The cataclastic granite parent rock has been given a significant epidote content through a process known as propylitization .
Decorative arts and crafts applications are hardly known in Central Europe. There are occasional smaller representative applications in the USA.
Unakite is often sold in Germany as an imitation jasper under the name of flower jasper as a jewelery or healing stone .
