Under the Influence of Giants (sometimes abbreviated to UTIOG ) is a music group from Los Angeles, California , which previously played under the name Home Town Hero . They released their second LP of the same name in August 2006, which already achieved number 1 in the Top Heatseekers charts. Influences include the Bee Gees , Prince , WHAM! and Todd Rundgren . They have already appeared in the US late night shows Last Call with Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel Live and gained a lot of sympathy , especially in 2007 on a European tour with The Sounds .
