Hungarian pilot badge
The Hungarian pilot badge was an award for the activities of the air force of the Kingdom of Hungary , newly founded in 1938 under the imperial administrator and head of state Miklós Horthy .
Appearance and wearing style
The badge is gold-plated and shows a highly oval green enamelled oak leaf wreath whose width is 36 mm and height 57 mm. The crown of St. Stephen is placed on its upper tip and the colored red, white and green coat of arms of Hungary is placed on its lower center. In the center of the pilot's badge is a bronze eagle with outspread wings that looks down. The eagle has a total length of 60 mm, which means that its wings (each 25 mm long) protrude over the edge of the badge on both sides. The miniature, which was awarded with the award of the badge, is 28 mm high and 18 mm wide. It was carried on the left breast pocket of the borrower.
