Unimate

Unimate was the first industrial robot . It was used in production by the Ford company from 1961 . He manipulated and welded die-cast parts for car bodies. Unimate was designed based on US Pat. No. 2,988,237 to George Devol . Together with Joseph F. Engelberger Devol founded Unimation , the world's first manufacturer of robots .
