The Union Betriebs-Gesellschaft (UBG), based in Rheinbach and with an operating facility in Berlin, is the business enterprise of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany .

history

founding

In December 1959 the later UBG was founded under the name Press and Information Services of the CDU Deutschlands - Verlagsgesellschaft mbH and entered in the commercial register at the Bonn District Court on January 27, 1960 . The task of the GmbH was to take over the publishing activities for party publications and also to participate in general market events.

Further development

In 1968 the name was changed to Union Betriebs-Gesellschaft mbH. In the meantime, the company's activities have expanded through the operation of a professional offset printing company and, through the merger with the former Dico-Soft GmbH on January 1, 1992, to operate a data center and provide services in the field of information technology expanded. A number of subsidiaries were founded over a period of four decades and have since merged or dissolved with UBG. Until the CDU in Germany moved to Berlin, the UBG had its headquarters in Bonn. UBG has been based in Rheinbach since 1999 and provides its nationwide services from there. It also has an operating facility in Berlin.

Publications

The UBG publishing house publishes WirtschaftsBild, a magazine for medium-sized businesses that Ludwig Erhard co-founded in 1949 , the municipal economic publication rathausconsult and Union, the CDU's members' magazine. The WirtschaftsBild now appears in four different series of publications, the rathausconsult magazine, a former supplement to the municipal political papers, has been developed into an independent specialist organ since 2006.
