Union of Thracian Associations
Union of Thracian Associations (UdTV for short, Bulgarian Съюз на тракийските дружества в България ) is the umbrella organization of the Bulgarian associations of expellees in the legal form of a registered association . It claims to defend the interests of the Bulgarians from eastern and western Thrace affected by flight , expulsion and resettlement , regardless of membership. According to the UdTV, around 1.5 million Thracian displaced persons and direct descendants live in Bulgaria today. The president of the UdTV has been the politician Krassimir Premyanow ( BSP ) since May 11, 2011 .
The UdTV was founded at a congress of the Thracian associations of expellees in Edirne, Turkey in December 1918. The headquarters of the organization is now in the Bulgarian capital Sofia . The UdTV publishes the Thrakija newspaper and has a youth and a women's organization.
