Unionhall ( Irish : Bréantrá ) is a small fishing town in the southwest of the Republic of Ireland . It is located in County Cork , approximately 20 km east of Skibbereen .

The population of Unionhall (not including the surrounding area) was determined to be 270 in the 2016 census .

landscape

The place is right by the sea and therefore has its own port for small fishing cutters and cargo ships. In addition, the place is located on a hill; this is shown by narrow, steep streets in the east of the village.

Attractions

Unionhall has three pubs. Dinty's, Casey's, and the Boatsman's Inn.

The area around Unionhall is characterized by hills, bays, small forests, rivers and islands.

There is also a Catholic church in the south of the village.

Business

There is a Centra chain supermarket and a fish shop in Unionhall. Unionhall also had a small post office.

Cross the narrow Poulgorm Bridge and take the regional road 597 towards Glandore / Ross Carbery and Leap on the national road 71.
