The Unionist Democratic Union ( Arabic الاتحاد الديمقراطي الوحدوي, DMG al-ittiḥād ad-dīmuqrāṭī al-wiḥdawī ; French Union démocratique unioniste , UDU) is a Tunisian political party that defends Arab nationalism .

Founded on November 26th and recognized on November 30th, 1988, it still had seven delegates in the Chamber of Deputies in 2011 . She has participated in all parliamentary elections since 1989. However , it is not represented in the Constituent Assembly elected in October 2011 .

In the 1999 election , the Unionist Democratic Union put its founder and General Secretary Abderrahmane Tlili as a candidate for the presidency; he received 0.23% of the vote. While they did not present a candidate in 2004, the Union sent Tlili's successor, Ahmed Inoubli , into the race in the 2009 elections , who came in third with 3.8% of the vote.

The Unionist Democratic Union publishes its daily party newspaper in Arabic ( El Watan ).
