Unitas film
The Unitas-Film AG was a Swiss film production company .
history
The Unitas film was founded in 1957 by Oscar Düby . After working for Gloriafilm and Praesens-Film , he wanted to try his hand at working as an independent film producer. He teamed up with Schaggi Streuli , with whom he already worked in the taxi driver Bänz . After a commercial, the feature film To the Golden Ox was shot under the direction of Hans Trommer. The collaboration between the renowned director and Streuli as the main actor and screenwriter did not work out and the film was shipwrecked at the box office. The SOS - Gletscherpilot template originally came from Max Frisch , but was rewritten beyond recognition with Düby's assistance. Despite the star cast, the film was a financial failure as the cost of shooting outdoors in the high mountains skyrocketed. This marked the end of the Unitas film in 1959.
