United Initiators is a German chemical company based in Pullach im Isar Valley and a total of seven production sites in Europe, Asia and North America.

history

The company goes back to a patent from Gustav Adolph and Albert Pietzsch from 1909 for the production of hydrogen peroxide and the establishment of the company Elektrochemische Werke München (EWM) in 1911. In 1961, Laporte Industries , a UK chemical company, became the sole owner of EWM. In 1970, the Interox Group was formed through a joint venture between Laporte Industries and Solvay , and EWM was renamed Peroxid-Chemie . The peroxide chemistry was separated from the group in 1992 and 2001 by Degussa taken. In 2004, Peroxid-Chemie was renamed Degussa Initiators and, after Degussa became part of Evonik Industries , sold to Speyside Equity in 2008 and renamed United Initiators again. In 2011, Vision Capital took over the majority of the shares. In September 2016 the company was taken over by the management and Equistone Partners Europe as majority shareholder from the previous owners Vision Capital and Speyside Equity.

United Initiators produces various organic peroxides and persulfates under the brands BENOX , CAROAT , CUROX and NOROX .
