The company Universal Trends was in Würselen -based distributor and manufacturer of toys.

history

Universal Trends was founded in 1989 as a retailer and wholesaler of postage stamps and related collectors' supplies. The company emerged from the Marken Belo retail company founded in 1945. After the company's product range initially expanded to include coins and telephone cards , trading cards , figurines and merchandising were also added.

After the business had grown steadily, the name was changed in 1989 and the old name Marken Belo was given up in 1994 and the name Universal Cards was used. The company acts as a distributor for Switzerland , Austria and Germany .

From 1997 Universal Trends existed as a GmbH. On July 1, 2010, Universal Cards was renamed Universal Trends. In 2010 the company had around 60 employees.

In 2015 the company had to file for bankruptcy and was taken over by RPM Licensing Enterprises GmbH on November 1, 2015.

Product range

In addition to the best-known product Magic: The Gathering , which has been distributed by Universal Trends since September 2006, other Wizards of the Coast products for the German-speaking area were also distributed through Universal Trends. Universal Trends also sold the game Confrontation from the French company Rackham , Würfel from Chessex Games and products from Upper Deck , Ultra Pro , Tomy , Plastoy and Fantasy Productions .
