The Universidad de La Salle is a Catholic university founded in Bogotá in 1964 , named after the French priest Jean Baptiste de La Salle . It is located in the La Candelaria district and is run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools (FSC), a Catholic male order . The college was recognized by the government of Colombia by decree on August 11, 1975 .

The philosophy of the university is based on training projects in higher education and offers relevant research projecting social impacts with the aim of promoting the dignity and holistic development of the person, as well as transforming society by promoting culture or the search for meaning the truth.
Mission and Lassalist Project
The task of the Universidad De La Salle is to provide holistic education and to generate knowledge that contributes to the social and productive transformation of the country. The university thus actively contributes to a “just and peaceful society through the training of professional teachers who contribute to the search for holistic and sustainable human development for their knowledge, values, ability to work with colleagues, social sensitivity and a sense of belonging ".
