University of Guyana
The University of Guyana (UG) ( University of Guyana ) opened its doors on October 2, 1963 in Georgetown . Back then the university was attended in evening classes and only had three teaching units on offer - art , science and social science .
Since then the university has expanded. On May 27, 1994, a 40-room dormitory was added to give students from the Guyana area a place to study and sleep. A second and third dormitory were added to accommodate a further 46 students. The university is divided into the Turkeyen Campus and Tain Campus .
About 5000 students are now registered in the basement in the fields of agriculture , art, education , natural science, medicine , social science and technology .
