The University of Tuzla is a state institution in the Bosnian city of Tuzla . The foundation goes back to a technical college for mining (1958), which was affiliated with the University of Sarajevo in 1960 and its first external faculty. In the course of the following years, other faculties were affiliated and in 1976 the institution became independent.
The university is a member of the network of Balkan universities (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey). The university consists of 11 faculties and 3 academies, at which study programs for bachelor and master degrees are offered in accordance with the Bologna rules .
