The University of the Middle East ( Turkish : Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi ) is a foundation university in North Nicosia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus .
The university was founded in 1988 and is located seven kilometers (as the crow flies) north-northwest of the city center in a separate complex. There are a total of 13 faculties.
