The University of Illinois at Springfield (also called UIS ) is a state university of the fine arts in Springfield , the capital of the US state of Illinois . 4855 students are currently studying here.

history

The college was founded in 1969 as Sangamon State University . It has been part of the University of Illinois since 1995 .

Sports

The UIS sports teams are the Prairie Stars . She is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
