Our Neue Zeitung (abbreviation UNZ ) is a left-wing weekly newspaper in Thuringia . It was founded in 1990 and is published in Erfurt .

The magazine is owned by private individuals, some of whom belong to the left . It is published by the publishing director Monika Fenk-Sorbe. The UNZ's most important advertisers are the party Die Linke and its members, u. a. it contains the “parliamentary report” of the parliamentary group, which has its own editorial team, as a supplement. In addition, local companies advertise in the magazine without political references.

Other publishing products

In the past, the publisher also published brochures on contemporary history, partly with the viewpoint of the functionaries who were active in the GDR era. This series was not continued after 2002.

Most of the articles in the current print edition are published free of charge on the website. A complete ePaper does not currently exist.

The magazine with the subtitle "for culture, politics, economy and labor market in Thuringia" regularly has a "country and people" page, interviews and the "parliamentary report" as a multi-page supplement. One page is devoted to youth issues and activities of Left Youth ['solid] , another page deals with politics in the European Parliament. Other sections include short messages from the regions, event information, letters to the editor, a service and advice section, and puzzles. Overall, the layout of the magazine is comparable to the Bayernkurier , albeit with a left-wing rather than a Christian social focus.

Range

The newspaper has a circulation of 5100 copies, of which 4800 are delivered to subscribers and 300 are sold through newsagents. According to a media analysis, the newspaper has a reach of around 15,000 readers in Thuringia. The newspaper is now also widespread in the Monday demonstration initiatives.

Thomas Holzmann has been the editor-in-chief since 2009. He replaced Regina Pelz , who had headed the editorial team since 1990. In addition to the publisher's paid editors, the newspaper regularly works with the voluntary collective of authors, the columnist Stefan Wogawa , who has also written for the young world , and a number of people who irregularly provide their texts and images free of charge or for a fee per line.
