Our Volksbank eG St. Wendeler Land was a cooperative bank based in St. Wendel in the Saarland .
history
In 1928 the St. Wendeler Volksbank eG was founded. After the takeover of some credit institutions in the 1930s to 1950s, the focus of their mergers was in the 1960s. In 2000 it merged with Volksbank eG Nonnweiler and in 2002 with Volksbank Urexweiler-Marpingen eG. The oldest of the melted down forerunner institutes, the Raiffeisenkasse Tholey eGmbH, reached back to the year 1873.
In 2015 the bank merged with Volksbank Nahe-Schaumberg eG, which emerged on September 7, 2001 from the merger of Theleyer Volksbank eG and Volksbank Obere Nahe eG (formerly Volksbank Gonnesweiler eG), and has been called our Volksbank eG St. Wendeler Land ever since .
In November 2018, the extraordinary meeting of representatives of Bank 1 Saar eG and Unser Volksbank eG St. Wendeler Land decided to merge their banks with 100 percent approval each. The merger was entered in the cooperative register on July 4, 2019.
