Unterroth was part of the municipality of Eitorf in the Rhein-Sieg district and is now part of the main town.

The village of Unterroth is located south of the Sieg and above the Erlenbach. Neighboring places were Harmonie in the east, Schiefen in the south and Jägeroth in the west.

history

In the Middle Ages, the place called only Roth belonged to the Honschaft Irlenbach . From 1816 to 1934 the place belonged to the municipality of Merten .

In 1830 58 people lived in the village.

In 1845 there were 12 households with 68 Catholic residents in the hamlet . The name given here with Roth, below was made to distinguish it from the place Roth in Eitorfer Switzerland , which is now called Obenroth .

In 1885, Unterroth had 16 houses with 85 inhabitants.
