Schiefen is a former part of the municipality of Eitorf in the Rhein-Sieg district in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Leaning is at a height of 135  m above sea level. NHN on the left side of the Erlenbach between the districts of Unterroth and Josefshöhe . The Jägeroth monastery estate lay next to Schiefen .

history

From 1816 to 1934 Schiefen belonged to the municipality of Merten .

In 1830 47 people lived in the village.

In 1845 there were 14 households with 76 Catholic residents.

In 1885 Schiefen had 16 households and 88 residents.

In 1901 there were households Josef, Mathias and widow Wilhelm Dohrmann, Johann Franken, Wilhelm Irsen, widow Franz Schiefen, two Heinrich and one Philipp Schiefen. All were farmers .

village life

There has been a village community in the village since 1979 that erects a maypole , organizes Whitsun singing and hosts the potato festival on the first Saturday in August.
