Weyerhof (Eitorf)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Weyerhof is a former part of the municipality of Eitorf . It was a property similar to a moated castle.

location

The Weyerhof fell at the end of the 19th century and was in the current location of Halft . Today a street name still reminds of him.

layout

The two-story main house measured 14.5 by 8 meters and had two short projecting side wings to the east on the right and left, 1.5 meters to the north and 2.5 meters to the south. The two-winged entrance door opposite on the other side of the ditch found foundations that could suggest a bridge gate house.

history

In 1507 the building was owned by the knight Mant Hoen von Hartenfells. In 1756 Johann Wilhelm Dieffenbach and Maria Katharina de Scholl sold it to the Merten Monastery for 8,500 Reichstaler . In 1885 the property gave its name to the surrounding houses and was mentioned as having 10 households and 71 residents.
