Bitze is a part of the municipality of Eitorf in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district . The place name means "fruit meadow" in dialect .
history
The former districts of Sterzenbach and Forst belong to Bitze . Forst was the place of origin, which, like its antipode, Forstmehren at the royal forest of Leuscheid, functioned as a border town. According to tradition, a castle, or at least a fortified house, used to stand here, from which the transition to the Sayn domain was monitored. A corresponding foundation had previously been discovered, a street name “ Zur alten Burg” reminds of tradition. The district has long ceased to be the south-easternmost settlement in the municipality, but the Rodder district , which refers to clearing in the forest.

In 1885 Bitze had 16 residential buildings and 84 residents, Forst 17 residential buildings with 87 residents and Sterzenbach 24 residential buildings and 115 residents.
Regular events
- At Easter, the Heimatverein Bitze-Sterzenbach e. V. on the club's own premises On the Waldbühne a “warm-up party”, where especially younger guests are to be welcomed.
- The traditional "Forest Festival" is celebrated on the last weekend in June.
- St. Martin is a Martinszug with final big Martinsfeuer organized.

In Bitze there is the “Bitzer Smurfs” kindergarten and the Bitze-Sterzenbach e. V. Angelo Kelly lived in Bitze for a few years.
