Wassack is a part of the municipality of Eitorf . It is located on the Lindscheid on the edge of the Krabach valley . The Heckenhof golf course is directly adjacent to Wassack .

history

The chapel village Wassack was created from the three districts Wassack, Juckenbach and Driesch (erhof).

Juckenbach was first mentioned in 1176. The Schwarz-Rheindorf monastery and the aristocratic seat Burg Welterode had a property there in a document.

From 1816 to 1934 Wassack belonged to the municipality of Merten .

In 1829 Juckenbach had 48 residents according to the parish archives. In 1843, according to the municipality register , the hamlet already had 67 residents and ten homes.

Wassack had eleven inhabitants in 1829, so it probably already consisted of one or two families. In 1843 there were two dwellings with ten residents on the farm. In 1901, however, only that of the blacksmith Heinrich Jacobs was recorded as the only household.

Driesch had 16 residents in 1821 and 15 residents in 1829. In 1843 the farm had 21 residents in three houses.
