Bourauel is a former chapel village with Bergisch half-timbered houses belonging to the municipality of Eitorf in North Rhine-Westphalia . It lies between the Nutscheid and the victory .
The village was part of the municipality of Merten until January 1, 1935 .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1261. Bourauel belonged to the Irlenbach honors . In the past, Bourauel Zentralort on the north bank was the victory for the hamlets
- Buchhof or Bog , first mentioned in 1656, a submerged Halfenhof of the Lords von Scheidt called Weschpfennig an der Sieg behind Lützgenauel
- Lützgenauel , first mentioned in 1645 and still independent
- Menghof, first mentioned in 1585, located between Bourauel and Lützgenauel and also sunk
- Brasshof, located in eastern Bourauel
- Hombacher Mühle, located on the Schmelzbach (Sieg) , went under
- Hombach , first mentioned in a document in 927, today also part of the village of Eitorf.
In addition, weierhof and Bonnhof were added, which were retained as land names.
Lies above Bourauel in the Nutscheid
- Thielenbach , first mentioned in 1436 and the center of its own honor, but also perished
- Uhlersharth , first mentioned in 1656 and sunk after 1843
- Forsthaus Storch, perished
and possibly a Brölerhof near the Römerstraße , point to the field names.
The tree farm, which is still above the source of the Mengbach, did not exist in the Middle Ages.
Today only one street name reminds of the formerly independent place Bourauel.

In 1845 Bourauel had 185 inhabitants.

According corridor designations there used to be a wine growing : In the vineyard , Bottom vineyard , the top of the Proffgarten and in the old vineyard .

There is its own carnival club , a Veedelszoch and a chapel club.
