Location of Buch in North Rhine-Westphalia

Buch was a part of the municipality of Eitorf in North Rhine-Westphalia and went under.

location

The court was due to the victory between Merten and Lützgenauel . At that time, a tributary of the Sieg stretched here, which disappeared after straightening for the construction of the victory route .

history

Buch, also called Buchhof or Bog , was first mentioned in 1656. The name is probably derived from arch , which describes the terrain. The estate was a Halfenhof owned by the von Scheidt family called Weschpfennig .

In the Eitorfer church registers from 1656 a book miller is mentioned, which could indicate the operation of a mill on the Siegarm, especially since the strip of land between the steep slope and the bank does not seem to be sufficient for economic agriculture.

At that time the farm was in the Irlenbach Honschaft with Bourauel as the main town. Today only the hallway in the Bücherberg indicates the property.

Residents

In 1821 the farm had ten residents. In 1845 it was no longer in the directory.
