Obereiper Mühle is part of the municipality of Eitorf . The hamlet , which emerged from an old oil mill , now consists of 3 buildings and a restaurant.

location

The Obereiper Mühle is located on the lower reaches of the Wohmbach in the middle of the hiking and recreational area "Hüppelröttchen" on the ascent to Leuscheid . The place is on the state road 86 between the districts of Mühleip and Obereip , a few kilometers from the border with Rhineland-Palatinate .

history

It is certain that the forerunner of the Obereiper mill was an old oil or grain mill. This can be seen from the still existing millstones made of solid basalt . They serve to stabilize the greywacke exposed masonry of one of today's buildings. A date from the middle of the 17th century was carved into one of the millstones.

A flood retention basin of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis water association has existed since 1976.
