Lydia Fischer

Lydia Anna Fischer (born February 15, 1949 in Ottendorf (Ahlerstedt) ) is a German CDU politician and former member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life

Lydia Fischer is a trained educator and has worked with children and young people for many years.

She does voluntary work in the church and youth sector. She also looks after a senior citizens' residential complex. She is a member of the Süderelbe and Wilhelmsburg citizens' associations, the Friends of the Art Gallery and a founding member of the Friends of Harburg Theater .

She is married to the former member of parliament Ralf-Dieter Fischer and has two daughters.

politics

Fischer has been a member of the CDU since 1974 and has worked in various offices at local and district level. From 1991 to 2004 she was a member of the Harburg District Assembly . From 2001 to 2004 she was group leader of her party there.

From 2004 to 2011 she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament. There she was a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee. Her political work in parliament focused on social issues, children and young people. For her party she was on the health committee, social committee (since 2008 expanded into social and equality committee) as well as family, children and youth committee. She also represented the parliamentary group in the 18th electoral term in the Special Committee on Neglected Children and in the Study Commission on School Development.

In February 2008, after the general election , she moved back to Hamburg's citizenship as a directly elected member of the constituency 17 Süderelbe .
