possession

The Rankenhohn farm belonged to Berthold von Belven and Anna Katharina von Scheidt called Weschpfennig from Rösrath until 1682 . After brief ownership by the Rösrath monastery , Friedrich Heinrich Scherer and Anna Katharina von Scheidt called Weschpfennig bought it in 1697 for 350 Reichstaler to three quarters and thus came back into family ownership . Heinrich Scherer was the owner of the neighboring free manor Wingenbach until 1708 .

In 1667 a Matthias from Rankenhohn married a Gertrud from Ottersbach . In 1675 a Johann Olbertz from Rankenhohn married Margarethe von Weschpfennig from the manor Wingenbach, best man is the first mentioned Johann von Rankenhohn. Between 1690 and 1714 ten other members of the Olbertz family from Rankenhohn are mentioned, mostly as marriage partners. Corresponding birth entries are missing here.
