Wingenbach is a district of the municipality of Ruppichteroth in Nutscheid .

history

Wingenbach was the family estate of the von Scheidt family called Weschpfennig . The last mention of the Junker family, Hans Wilhelm , who died around 1667, is mentioned in the rent book of the Blankenberg office . In a compilation of aristocratic estates from 1644, Wingenbach has entered as horse service: two horses, one load of oats. These had to be provided in the event of war.

After the death of Johann Scheid, the owner became his son-in-law Friedrich Heinrich Scherer, who was married to their daughter Maria Catharine (1650-1711). Scherer was a judge and rentmaster in the Windeck office .

chapel

In 1707, at the suggestion of the Catholic priest, Scherer had a chapel built on the estate. However, since he soon sold this because of money worries, there was a dispute over this. The new buyer was the Protestant Bock von Wülfringen , called Bock von Eisengarten , who did not want a Catholic chapel on his property. Although the chapel was inaugurated on July 16, 1708 as an argument against the demolition, the church decided against the restriction of property rights. Ultimately, Scherer sold the material from the chapel to build the Waldbröler Church.

Residents

In 1809 the place had nine Catholic residents.

For 1910 there were three households in Wingenbach: Telegraph worker Franz Hambücher, farm worker Johann Wilhelm Hambücher and innkeeper Heinrich Schmidt.
