The Laurentius Chapel

Beiert is a hamlet of the North Rhine-Westphalian municipality Ruppichteroth in Germany .

It consists of eleven houses as well as the listed Beierter Hof .

location

Beiert is 170  m above sea level. NHN over the Bröltal . Neighboring towns are Niederhorbach in the west and Herrnstein Castle in the east.

history

The place, then spelled Bayerd , had eleven households with 49 souls in 1712 : Gerard Biezen, Mathias Steimel, Gerard Honsberg, Wittwe Schwarz, Wittwe Hövers, Sebastian Schmit, Gerard Schmit, Henrich Röger, Wittwe Quabeck, Wittwe Treckers and Godfried Ezenbach.

In 1809 the place had 65 Catholic residents.

In 1817 Beiert, then Bayert , had 76 residents

Cultivated yard

The Beiert farm was already mentioned in 1299, when it was given to Count Wilhelm von Berg on February 25 by Heinrich von Drachenfels as a fief for 100 marks received . In 1644 the farm was owned by Bertram von Nesselrode .

chapel

The adorned chapel is dedicated to St. Laurentius . It houses a wooden statue of the saint from 1767.
