The Good Bettringen was a small manor house in the district Winterscheid the municipality Ruppichteroth in Rhein-Sieg-Kreis . It was about 600 m northeast of Hatterscheid in a shallow valley basin at 206.30 m above sea level.

history

Wilhelm von Nesselrode the Younger acquired a share in Herrnstein Castle in 1436 and thus also the Bederingen estate that belonged to it . In 1462 Teyll van Bederynge was mentioned as a servant and lender (15 guilders) to Wilhelm, Duke of Jülich-Berg . He is also a country judge . Another lender (1 guilder) is Hentg van Bederyng . In 1594 Heinrich blessed Werner's son , who was left behind on the Attenberg, is mentioned, who is obliged to serve with his "Gut zu Bedering and Hatterscheid in Kirspell Winterscheidt and Huppich in Kirspell Rupichtraedt". In 1644 a “free noble seat Beddering” was named as a special property, whereupon a Kell (n) er or halfman wonhaft “and in the Winterscheider Honschaft “ darselbst zue said Beddering ”two farms“ so free, but one house ahead of them f (most friendly) D (ur) chl (also) a common föder haberen (and hoehner are given and draw two pfert out of each hoeve) ”.

In 1712 three households with 20 "souls" lived here: Theodor Schreinermacher, Engelbert Reichartz and Peter Gräff.

In 1809 the estate had 20 Catholic residents.

The estate remained in the possession of the Counts of Nesselrode and was used as a forester's house by several generations of the Nieland family in the 19th and 20th centuries. In September 1961 the last residents, the wife and descendants of the forester Peter Weyden, who died in May , left the house, which was started to be demolished in April 1964. Today only the remains of the walls of the former half-timbered buildings are left.
