Rotscheroth is a district of the municipality of Ruppichteroth in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The hamlet is, as the ending red already suggests, a cleared settlement .

geography

Rotschertoth is located in a forest area of the Nutscheid at a junction of the district road 55. Neighboring villages are Ifang in the north and Ennenbach in the west.

history

In 1809 the place had seven Catholic and eleven Lutheran residents.

Surroundings

The small housing estate is special because of a natural monument. The largest tree in North Rhine-Westphalia is located near Rotscheroth . It is a 400 year old sweet chestnut . It is 30 m high and has a trunk circumference of 6.70 m. The German Unity hiking trail also leads past this tree .
