geography

The hamlet lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Neighboring towns are Junkersaurenbach in the north, Ruppichteroth in the south and Mittelaurenbach in the east. Bacherhof can be reached via Landesstraße 312 .

history

In 1644, the free aristocratic court owned by W. Scheiffart von Merode was mentioned in the Bachen . The name goes back to the location on the Saurenbach . In 1715 the farm was named Freihof . If necessary, the farm had to provide two horses and a load of oats to deliver.

In 1809 the place had seven Catholic residents.

In 1901 the tenants Anton and Josef Sasse were registered for Gut Bacherhof, six people lived here.

In 1910 only the household of the landowner Hermann Goebbels was recorded for Bacherhof.
