The hamlet is located in the upper Derenbach valley . Neighboring towns are Holenfeld and Schmitzdörfgen in the southwest.

history

In 1712 six households with 29 souls lived here : Wilhelm Thiel, Henrich Bäumgen, Wimar Schmit, Wilhelm Kuchheim, Anton Severing and Gerard Lückroth.

In 1809 the place had 35 Catholic residents. Along with Bechlingen, Fußhollen, Hatterscheid, Holenfeld, Honscheid, Litterscheid, Schmitzdörfgen and Stockum, it belonged to the Derenbach community (495 Catholic inhabitants) in the special community of Winterscheid.

In 1817 40 people lived here.
