The Derenbach is a 7.7 km long left tributary of the Bröl in Ruppichteroth ( North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany ).
geography
The stream rises east of the village of Derenbach, which belongs to the municipality of Ruppichteroth, at an altitude of 262 m above sea level. NHN . Flowing to the west, the stream takes on several shorter tributaries. The most important is the 1.8 km long Heidchesbach. After a river stretch of 7.7 km, the stream flows out on the left at 79 m above sea level. NHN in the Bröl . With a height difference of 183 m, the mean bed slope corresponds to 23.8 ‰.
Catchment area and tributaries
The catchment area of the Derenbach is 10.815 km² and drains into the North Sea via Bröl, Sieg and Rhine.
The water catchment area includes the towns of Derenbach, Holenfeld , Schmitzdörfgen, Bechlingen , Hatterscheid , Tanneck , Fußhollen , Litterscheid , Winterscheider Mühle, Winterscheid , Schreckenberg , Stockum , and the submerged early medieval fortification of the race castle .
