Damm is part of the municipality of Ruppichteroth . A house on the opposite bank of the stream belongs to the municipality of Much and used to be its own district of Damm (Much) .
geography
The hamlet is in the Homburg Bröltal . Neighboring places are Much - Tüschenbonnen in the north and Schönenberg in the south. The place can be reached via the state road 350 .
To the northeast of Damm was the district of Durchhausen, which was later submerged in 1666 . In 1809 the farm had four Catholic residents.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1336 when the Cologne Clarification Convention bought the then single farm with the associated watermill. In 1809 the place had 23 Catholic residents.
In 1901 the hamlet had 19 inhabitants. The heads of the household were the farmer Wilhelm Graef, the roofer Arnold Lindlahr, the shoemaker Heinrich Schmitz and the bricklayer Wilhelm Stommel.
In 1910, the same households were recorded for the dam, but Wilhelm Graf as day laborers and Wwe. Arnold Lindlahr as Ackerin .
